What Is Vaasthu
The scientific beginnings of Vaastu Shastra can be found in the cave man's struggle for existence. The basic tenet of the science of construction says that every building should have its main entrance facing towards the east. For the cave man this tenet simply meant entry to the morning sunrays, which was his only source of light. These humble beginnings also put an end to false notion of Vaastu Shastra being a new age science.
Vaastu or the science of construction is an amalgamation of the five basic elements of the universe, viz., earth, sky, water, fire and air. According to this science, if man can utilize the three elements within his reach, i.e., earth, water and fire, the other two elements, sky and air will come in concurrence on their own.
Unlike other universal sciences like astrology, numerology, palmistry , etc., which are mainly focussing on individual benefits, the science of Vaastu intends to bring prosperity to one and all living/working under a single roof.
Veedhi Shoola
Veedhi Shoola or spearing streets as it may be called, should be taken care of while purchasing the plot itself. The bad or even dangerous veedhi shoola's include the following directions:
Eastern - Southeast
Northern - Northwest
Southern - Southwest
Western - Southwest
The above veedhi shoolas are very dangerous with a potential for grave end results. However, they can be rectified by making certain alterations or even deleting the unwanted/undesirable portion of the plot. Another veedhi shoola tenet is that the plot/house should see the street line of the neighbors particularly in the south and west directions and should be at par with that of others.
Streets that Serve Us Well (Good Street Focus).
As there are bad streets there are good streets too around us. These include
It is also good to have total street focus on the total length of the house in the North and East directions only. But there tend to be mixed reactions of street focuses that run beside the total length of the house in the south and west directions.
The various tenets of the Vaasthu Shastra discussed above form the basic core of Vaasthu or the science of construction.
